PLA reinforced with carbon fiber:
 PLA carbon is our PLA filament with carbon fiber. It incorporates a percentage of strands of carbon fiber between 5-10 μm in diameter, which are trapped between the layers during printing, giving different mechanical characteristics to the printed pieces with this filament.

Improved rigidity: Carbon fiber makes the parts more rigid and therefore they get deformed less. Any application that can benefited from an extra rigidity can be done using PLA Carbon.

Lighter parts: Carbon fiber makes the filament lighter, making it suitable for lightweight parts. Carbon fiber stands out for its lightness and therefore is used extensively in the aerospace and automotive industry.

Easy to print: Being PLA-based is easy to print, it has no warping and does not need hot bedding.

Ideal for drones: The features of the PLA carbon, the lightness and strength, make it suitable for drones construction which require heavy and light chassis. Also for the manufacture of automotive parts or for the aerospace industry.

For the manufacture of this filament only 100% virgin PLA NatureWorks pellets of USA origin are used. The dyes used have been specially selected for colors to retain their properties after printing.

After being extruded the PLA Tech of FFF world is subjected to a process called DryX2. It is a redundant drying method in which the filament passes through two drying chambers to completely remove moisture. This thorough dehumidification guarantees the absence of bubbles that affect the print and the consistency of the filament. Once dry it is vacuum-packed with desiccant material.

It is packaged in a special anti-stress box that protects it during shipping and isolates it from light. It is then stored at constant temperature and humidity until it is sent to our customers.

PLA is a thermoplastic filament of vegetable origin made from a polymer obtained from corn starch with properties similar to those of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is used to make containers but is also biodegradable.

It is considered as the easiest material to print and therefore is sometimes recommended for beginners. This is because it has much better adhesion than ABS allowing it to be printed even without "warm bed". Now for optimal results it is recommended to use hot bed at 60º and lacquer.

For optimum finishes it is recommended to use a layer fan when printing with PLA. It depends on the hot-end used, also cooling here is necessary.

Due to its vegetal origin, it is respectful with the environment and gives off a pleasant sweet aroma when it is printed with it.

PLA is a hygroscopic material that tends to absorb moisture. For this reason we recommend that it be stored in an airtight bag with desiccant material and stored in a dry and dark place while it is not in use.
